The Motivation Behind EOCDF

Happy times come and go, but the memories stay forever!

Growing up in Ekotedo/Onireke Community was fun ,beautiful and exciting. Due to higher educational pursuits, family relocation, marital commitments and several other factors, we all soon lost touch with each other.
It was a knotty situation bringing everybody together at the same time to celebrate our childhood.
Seldomly, whenever the founding members come into contact with each other, they always reminisced of the old times and moments they once shared with themselves and loved ones. They discovered they all have people, things, or places they missed from the past as they grew up, schooled, made friends and socialised together as children.

However, several opportunities arose to reunite, rekindle our childhood relationship and maintain our friendship with advent of social networking platforms. The initial founding members ,Mr Israel Agenms, Mrs Joan Oladipo and Mrs Tobore Akinyemi (Kennyavy) came together with a dream and vision, they created a platform where we can come together and which seems to look alike as if we still live in the same community as we were used to in the past. Therefore,on the 15th of April 2020 NW6 was created.

At inception stage, Prof Godwin Avwioro and Mr Olumide Oladipo voted in their support and encouragement.
Mr Adejare Adebari and Mr Bayo Gbadamosi commended the vision of the initial founding members and also expended their time and money to make EOCDF well established.

Progresively, other founding members were contacted, the name NW6 was changed to Ekotedo/Onireke Community Development Forum. They also formed the Board of Trustees and thus began the collective effort to make contact with potential members. To ensure continuity and a robust functional organisation, members were asked to make nominations for members of the Executive Board, the first election were dispassionately conducted and the Exco members were elected into office.
